Just a small note to thank you, Dr. Homer, for helping me with my pinched nerve in my back. I still remember the first time that I came to your office, my pain was unbearable, and however in just the first treatment it was so much better. I remember that I was so happy I just had to hug you! How soon we forget, on my first visit you did tell me that it would take some time to fully recover, therefore I also will take this opportunity to apologize for being impatient , because as you promised, it is getting better every day.”
Before I came to see Dr. Homer and his massage therapist, I was having 2-4 headaches per week. After 6 months of chiropractic and massage care, I have 2-3 headaches per month. This also enabled me to be more active in my life because I can play sports like basketball pain free. I have the utmost confidence in the care that Dr. Homer provided me.
When searching through the yellow pages, making telephone calls to find a chiropractor in my area, Marlene’s friendly voice made me choose Yorkville Chiropractic Centre. She had such concern for my pain and went out of her way to enable me to see Dr. Homer for an assessment the following day. Her positive energy and confidence in chiropractic care was strongly evident in just this first conversation. After suffering tinnitus and excruciating neck and ear pain due to a blocked Eustachian tube for 5 months with no improvement through traditional approaches, my research led me to consider chiropractic care. There are many studies documenting the success of chiropractic adjustments in treatment of chronic Eustachian tube blockages that will not clear naturally or with pharmaceuticals, due to the muscle and nerve interference with the flap that separates the Eustachian tube and the pharynx. Having suffered a previous collarbone breakage on the same side as the tinnitus and the neck and ear pain, the presence of muscle and nerve interference was likely.
Dr. Homer’s initial assessment, using the latest scanning equipment, confirmed such nerve involvement, and he customized a treatment program for me. Since then, my quality of life has dramatically improved. My Eustachian tube blockage has cleared, the pain has disappeared, and the tinnitus has greatly diminished. I am convinced that the tinnitus will fully disappear in the near future. Additionally, I have increased energy, strength, endurance and better posture. Even though my initial complaint was the Eustachian tube blockage, the treatment has also helped with other health concerns related to the collarbone breakage and occupational stress. Massage therapy by Josh has complimented the chiropractic adjustments and has aided in my recovery.
I will continue to visit for preventative care. I would definitely recommend Yorkville Chiropractic to anyone who wants to improve their health and well-being. Marlene, Dr. Homer and Josh are such professional, caring and wonderful people-they make you feel like you are part of the family.
I have been a patient of Dr. Homer for the past year and a half. In that time I have been relieved of a constant clicking in my lower back that would occur whenever I would walk. Also, the treatments on the scar tissue on my left knee left me pain free. Furthermore, with the addition of quality orthotics, there has been lasting improvements in my posture and walking strides. I am grateful to Dr. Homer and his staff for the continued support health wise to relieve my symptoms without the use of mind numbing drugs in a timely and competent manner.

I could never run because of my knee but Dr. Homer recommended orthotics and they seem to work. Less pain and I’ve finished my longest run ever! Over 35 minutes! Thanks Dr. Homer.
After having three sets of orthotics from Women’s College, Dr. Homer has found the key and they fit great! I have seen Dr. Homer for 7 months and a problem that I have had for 10 years is now resolved and we are keeping it resolved with regular wellness adjustments. Other doctors told me that I had to live with the pain. I’m glad I found Dr. Homer and look forward to walking properly for the rest of my life.
I started working in the Bloor/Yorkville Area about a year before my pregnancy. I had not seen a chiropractor in years, and was feeling healthy. A friend recommended Yorkville Chiropractic Centre when I decided to have a pregnancy massage to help with the increasing soreness in my lower back. I was already familiar with Dr. Homer as a volunteer (and still is) on one of the committees where I worked. While I explained the pain I was having in my back, and the new pain I was experiencing in my hip. He suggested I come in for an assessment. I had many questions, and was afraid of hurting the baby while being adjusted, even though there is special equipment in the office for pregnant women. Dr. Homer was quick to ease my anxiety, and I was assessed. I had sciatica and lower back pain caused by the relaxation and stretching of your pelvic ligaments in preparation for labour, as explained by Dr. Homer.
I had my first adjustment, I was surprised at how quick, and easy it was. Dr. Homer explained what and why he was adjusting and I became more and more relaxed with each visit. I was adjusted throughout my whole pregnancy, up to the week before my baby was born. It helped with my pain and I was able to function in daily life without pain. Hannah was born on New Year’s Day, a healthy baby, and had two adjustments by Dr. Homer. She is happy and I know that without the adjustments during my pregnancy, I would not feel as good as I do today. I had two adjustments since Hannah was born and feel great!!!
Dr. Homer advised me that I should get some orthotics on a trial basis. Within a week of using them, I was amazed at the difference I was feeling. The pain in my lower back was reduced and I was able to move around virtually pain free for the first time in months. It’s remarkable.
After a bad horse riding accident in my early teens, regular chiropractors have helped me lead a pain-free and active life. I’m not sure what my back would have been like without those adjustments. Regular adjustments are so important to my overall health and well-being. With a family history of bad backs and a riding accident, my chiropractor is the major reason I am upright. The staff at YCC are amazing and genuinely care about your overall health and well-being. With my busy schedule, they are always so accommodating to my emergency visits. Chiropractic adjustments = good health.

I wanted to share with you how wonderful Dr. Homer has been. I came to him with unbearable back pain that was triggered by vacuuming. I waited a week thinking I could cure myself with ice and rest but it didn’t work. After one week I finally gave in and called Dr. Homer. At first I was very skeptical as I wanted instant relief which I wasn’t getting and after two weeks of adjustments I was still in pain-so I went to my family doctor for some pain medicine and to get a second opinion. He told me that I needed to see a specialist and get some physiotherapy-and he subscribed some anti-inflammatory pills for me. The following Monday I came in to see Dr. Homer and told him what my family doctor had said. He described in detail what physio does and what chiropractors do. He asked me to give him another week to see how I’d feel and to be patient because it’s all a process. I decided to take his advice.
After two more adjustments, I was feeling so good that I didn’t even need the inflammatory pills that my family doctor subscribed. I’m still seeing Dr. Homer-twice a week now and I can tell you that my back hasn’t been bothering me at all and it feels great to be able to get on with things. I’m still waiting to hear back from my family doctor about the specialist and physiotherapist-there’s patience for you! Of course I will see my doctor soon and tell him that I don’t need to go as I continued with my chiropractor and now I’m on the road to full recovery. Thank you Dr. Homer and I do apologize for my lack of patience and trust. I hope this helps other patients that are concerned that you’re not working miracles instantly-it does take time, but it’s worth the wait. Also, thanks for Nadia for being so understanding and being the best receptionist a doctor can have.
With almost unbearable pain and great difficulty walking, I hobbled into the Yorkville Chiropractic Centre on July 25, 2001. New to Toronto, I had turned to the nearest name in the phone book. It turned out to be a great choice. I have rarely, if ever encountered more personalized attention and genuine care. Always lending an attentive ear to the detailed accounts of my various aches and pains, David Homer never hesitated to make time in his schedule to keep my recovery on course. Now only 10 days later, I feel almost perfect…and I had a long way to go. I have received chiropractic care on and off for over 25 years and I would say that Dr. Homer ranks right up there with the very best. If you’re committed to healing yourself, he certainly has the knowledge and will lend you the helping hand you need.
Back pain that radiated down my left side and could no longer be ignored was the reason I contacted Dr. Homer. Now I have much more freedom of movement and the majority of the day is pain free, allowing me to eliminate regular use of pain medication. Living pain free, instead of finding ways to live with it. I had hesitated to return to chiropractic care as some of my experiences in the past had been rough. Dr. Homer has a very gentle touch and has taken the time to explain each step in the treatment to make sure I am comfortable with the plan and the progress.
